FINAL Senior Meeting: Monday, April 29, 2024
  • Monday, May 20th is a regular school day for grads. This is the last chance to take care of any business, school work, or tie up loose ends. Consider applying for transcripts that students will need - remember, we won't be available in the summer!  Check cafeteria balances - you may be owed some money, or you have a balance due.
  •
  • Tuesday, May 21st is Senior Class Field Trip to Six Flags Fiesta Texas. Students would have needed to turn in a parent signed form and their entry. Those not going MUST attend school that day and attend their classes as normal. This trip is chaperoned by faculty & staff and bussed by the school district.
  •
  • Wednesday, May 22nd - 9am ... is the final Mandatory Senior class meeting and check in with Dr. Malone and Ms. Bauer. Here, graduates will be given specific instructions regarding the graduation ceremony to come. The meeting will be held in the cafeteria and begins promptly at 9am, and should last about an hour. The grads will then be released to go home IF they have a signed parent note. Otherwise, they must stay and attend classes as normal.
    • There will be an informal ceremony after this meeting at the elementary school -it’s the HAWK WALK, and it is for graduates to walk the halls of RES and be applauded by the students at RES. Students who participate in this will be asked to wear their caps & gowns.

  • Wednesday, May 22nd - 6pm - is Senior Celebration Night!  At this event, we get to have the informal celebration, give out awards to include this year's "Wall of Fame" recipients, and we get to hear from all Seniors where the next step takes them. Grads and their families are asked to show their pride by wearing their new college/university/military t-shirts, or bringing flags, posters, or signs showing your pride! (Sorry, balloons not permitted). Immediately following the awards, the outgoing Senior class will walk out to the football field to meet the upcoming Senior class for Senior Sunset. Here, they officially "turn over" the bragging rights along with the Senior banner to the new seniors. It's an unofficial yearbook signing party - so make sure you get yours for your Senior and Junior!

This is your official last moment on campus.

  • Thursday, May 23rd - NO CLASS FOR SENIORS

  • Friday, May 24th - Graduation Day - Graduates MUST be at Summit Christian Center on or before 10am!
    • Doors open to the public at 12pm.
    • Expect the ceremony to last a little over an hour.
    • No balloons, flowers, etc. can be brought into the auditorium, however, there will be a table at the entrance that you can leave for later. This includes gift leis, etc. They can be given after the traditional ceremony.
    • All honor cords and club/organization cords will be given to the graduates the day of the event.
    • Leis, other non-school affiliated cords cannot be worn until after the official ceremony
    • There isn't a limit of guests who can attend; however, "holding/saving" seats will not be permitted, other than ADA accessible locations.
    • Photos will be taken by our faculty. The album will be posted to the RFISD.net website so that you have the freedom of selecting all the photos you like for printing, free of charge.  Please be patient; our photographer may take up to a week to process all photos.
    • There WILL be a live stream link posted on the main page of the website: it will be posted no later than 2 days prior to the graduation event. If you’re printing this on invites, please use www.rfisd.net. The live stream link will be right on the front page.

January 22nd, 2024 Meeting Notes
  • Counselors spoke to students regarding filling out the FAFSA (this is a requirement for graduation). If a student chooses not to fill out the FAFSA, an opt out form must be signed. This form can be picked up in the counseling office. If you are unsure if you have completed the FAFSA, have your child check with Mrs. Galeana or Mrs. Price. The counselors need a hard copy on for the student's file.
  • If your child is awarded scholarships, please make a copy and send it to the counselor - even if they scholarship is too a school they will not be attending!
  • Make sure your child is keeping track of absences - they will not want to miss any of the fun during Senior week.
  • Students were asked to scan a QR code to RSVP for Project Graduation. The link to the form can be found on the RHS Senior Instagram or in Coach Chavez's room.
  • A Senior letter from Dr. Malone will be mailed out in the coming weeks. An exact date will be announced soon but be on the lookout.
  • All students received an updated copy of their transcript and class rank at the closing of the meeting.
