Randolph Secondary Schools Vice Principal

Randolph Secondary Schools Vice Principal, Matt Atwell, is in his twelfth year in public education, eleven of which have been at Randolph.

Mr. Atwell received his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of the Incarnate Word and his Master of Science in Athletic Administration from Arkansas State University. Additionally, he completed his Principal Certification through Lamar University.

Prior to becoming Vice Principal, Mr. Atwell served as a special education teacher and department head, a coach of numerous sports, and, most recently, as the assistant principal for Randolph Secondary Schools.

He became an educator to positively impact the lives of young people the way that many of his own educators and coaches impacted his life. He wants to continue to make a difference and foster growth in our youth in order to help prepare them to be excellent members of society. Professionally, Mr. Atwell is most proud of the fact that, as a campus administrator and coach, he gets to positively impact the lives of students and staff on a daily basis.

Mr. Atwell especially loves working at Randolph because of the ebbs and flows that come with working with such a transient population. He loves the opportunity he has to reach our military-connected students who come from diverse backgrounds and may have had experiences all around the world. It is his goal to ensure that even if Randolph is just a brief stop along their journey, our community can show all of our students what it means to be a Ro-Hawk and to instill in them the desire to make a positive impact wherever they may go in the future.

Outside of school, Mr. Atwell enjoys spending time with his family, cooking, and watching sports.
