This year's theme: The 1960's: A Transformational Decade

Welcome to the Randolph High School Academic Decathlon page!
The 2018-2019 coaches for our Academic Decathlon program are Mary Shields and Rebecca Trammell. Please contact us or students come see us for more information.

Each year the United States Academic Decathlon competition challenges students to learn all they can about a particular theme, including the history, literature, art, music, science, economics, and math associated with that theme. Students compete by testing their knowledge in each of these seven areas, and by giving a speech, and an interview, and writing an essay. The Academic Decathlon is designed to include students of three academic levels. Each nine-member team consists of three “A” students, three “B” students, and three “C” students.

The 2019 Region competition will be in Corpus Christi February 8-10, 2019 and the State competition is set for March 8-10, 2019 in Frisco, TX.

Texas provides $150,000 in scholarship money each year. Registration fees and the Texas Education Agency contribute to this scholarship fund.
