About Me

Hello! My name is Jake Ritter. I was a military child and eventually landed in San Antonio, TX where I went to Randolph Secondary School. Graduating in 2009, I moved up to San Marcos and attended Texas State University, majoring in Communication, Philosophy, and eventually, English!

 

Since then I've been teaching here. This will be my 11th year teaching at RHS, and I'm very excited to meet you! I spent the last 10 years teaching English and Journalism. This year I will be teaching lots of technology classes from Commercial Photography to Graphic Design to Principles of Audio & Video Tech. I am continuing to advise the yearbook staff in our 2024 book this year and oversee production of our weekly news show Ro-Hawk Talk Season 7. 

 

I also may be found hosting the school's D&D club or coaching UIL Journalism events. 

 

When I'm not teaching, I'm usually engaging in imaginary play with my 4- and 6-year-old, holding our new baby, painting with my wife, playing guitar, or playing complicated board games with my friends.
