Ro-Hawk Raider Fitness Team
Raider Competition fitness team or "Raiders" as it is more commonly known is a very popular athletic competition held within Junior ROTC programs around the United States. It is the Junior ROTC equivalent of the Army ROTC "Ranger" competition in college, only far less dangerous but very challenging. Competitions may include:
- 5K or 10K individual run or formation run
- Timed Obstacle /Agility course
- Physical Fitness test (Push-ups, Sit-ups)
- Orienteering
- Tug-of-War
- Rope bridges
- Litter carry
- Various other mystery team events

Kitty Hawk Honor Society
This activity is similar to the National Honor Society and includes cadets who possess a GPA of 3.0 or higher in both AFJROTC and Randolph High School. This team has additional community service requirements, which include tutoring TX-20172 cadets and nearby elementary/middle school students. Kitty Hawk Air Society (KHAS) is the official National Honor Society equivalent within AFJROTC. The purpose of the society is to uphold academic standards and promote further interest in academic achievement. Cadets will have the opportunity to earn the KHAS Badge. The initial student officers will determine the qualifications criteria for TX-20172 Cadets.

Drone Team
Drone piloting is relatively new to AFJROTC and a program we are particularly excited about. Through this program, cadets will learn how to fly a remotely piloted aircraft and potentially compete in Drone competitions. Due to Air Force Policy, flying drones outside on the RFISD campus (on JBSA - Randolph) is not permitted.

Model Rocketry Team
The model rocketry program provides an opportunity for cadets to learn the basic principles of aerospace rocketry. During the program, the cadets get the opportunity to design, build and launch model rockets and perform in appointed team positions. Model rockets built use safe engines. Successful completion of program requirements makes cadets eligible for the model rocket badge. Due to Randolph aerodrome restrictions, flying rockets on the RFISD campus is only allowed on weekends with base approval.

Marksmanship Team and Club
Comprised of a relatively small competition team (4-8 Cadets), and a larger developmental team (Unlimited), cadets will continually compete for a position on the competitive team. Cadets wanting to participate in the marksmanship team will receive formal training in the safe handling of air rifles and will be required to pass a safety test before being allowed to handle the air rifles or step onto the shooting range. Cadets participating in the marksmanship team and club will use .177 caliber air rifles and may have the opportunity to compete in local or postal air rifle competitions.
The Range is currently under construction and completion is anticipated to be prior to the 2019/20 school year.

Orienteering Team
Orienteering is open to all cadets and requires navigation skills, common sense, and stamina. A topographical map and a compass are necessary to get from point to point in the fastest time possible. As the club's skills evolve, the team may have the opportunity to compete in local area competitions. Although orienteering is physically demanding, orienteering builds leadership skills, self confidence, and team building.
