Ms. Spano's Art Class

Welcome to the art room! I am excited to be working with your child creatively this year.

The 23-24 school year will be my 11th year as an Art Educator. I have worked previously at Randolph MSHS, the Department of Defense schools abroad in Ansbach, Germany, and Winston Churchill in San Antonio.

I received a Bachelors degree in Art Education at Texas State University. I continued my education and received a Masters in Art Education with Texas Tech University. It was through this art program that I fell in love with glassblowing.

I am the youngest of three sisters in a military family. My father was in the Air Force and we moved every 1 to 2 years back and forth from Asia to the US until I was able to stay for four consecutive years at Ramstein Air Force Base, Germany for high school. The consistency of one place allowed me to fully immerse into the arts and it became a vital part of my identity in an ever changing environment of my upbringing. I enjoy working in glass, drawing, painting, and collage. Aside from using art to relax, I also enjoy hiking, traveling, and gardening. In the classroom, I find it fundamentally important to expose students to all art mediums and the diversity of art history through global cultures. My favorite part of teaching is assisting students in their journey to artistically discovering their unique story and identity through their art making and reflecting it in their own personal work successfully.

Thank you for your continued service to our country.
