Mr. Vance Sarlow » UIL Prose and Poetry Interpretation

UIL Prose and Poetry Interpretation

WHAT IS IT?
UIL Prose and Prose Interpretation is a contest that allows students to select prose and poetry works and perform them in front of audiences and judges. This is an individual event where the performer must use a variety of vocal characterizations and emotions to play multiple characters. Think of it as a seven minute long monologue.

Each school can have four Prose Interp students and four Poetry students on their UIL Academic Team, three active and one alternate for each. Mr. Sarlow started coaching the Prose team at the beginning of the 2014-15 school year and Poetry at the beginning of 2017.
