WELCOME from Mr. Coach Cabra
Hello,
Welcome to Texas History. I am very excited about sharing my passion for my
home state with you. I grew up near here, in San Marcos, Texas. I received my
bachelors degree and master's degree both from Southwest Texas State University
(now known as Texas State).
I am married to Nydia, "doc", Cabra who is an Athletic Trainer who received her
doctorate at A.T. Still University . She teaches at UTSA in San Antonio. I have two
children, Casey and Parker, who make me very proud. Parker attends RHS and Casey
was part of the first graduating class of Steele High School in SCUC-ISD.
I'm starting my 42nd year of teaching, coaching, and serving as an administrator. I have
taught American History for high school and middle school, as well as Texas History. I
have been an administrator in the past serving as Assistant Principal, Athletic Director,
and Girls Coordinator for Marion ISD, and Principal at RHS.
I coach offensive line and the defensive line for the varsity Ro-Hawk football team. I also
coach high school hurdlers, both boys and girls.
I love watching college football and my favorite team is Alabama. I do also
support LSU, (which was my father's favorite team), when they are not playing Alabama.
We have had many Ro-Hawk alumni show success and I am proud of each of my
students.
