What to bring to class:

Your Notebook:
Each student is responsible for keeping a notebook that will consist of divided sections for:
grade/assignments sheet & class information, notes and daily work/homework.
Textbook:
Textbook is on chromebook and when in person you will have access to a textbook in class. The
book will remain in class.
Grading policy:
Daily work( class/homework/quizzes) the purpose of homework is to practice a skill that is
learned in class. Emphasis should be on mastering the skill. If skill is not mastered, the student
should take the responsibility to get help and come to tutorials. Weight 40%
Assessments and projects: Tests will be given at the end of a lesson or unit. At times
assessments will be done through a project. Weight 50%. Quick check such as Bell Ringers will
count 10%
Classroom Behavior Guidelines:
Students learn best in an organized atmosphere, where students and teachers alike feel safe
and respected. Therefore, students are expected to:
1. Follow directions the first time they are given.
2. Stay in their seats, unless they have permission to do otherwise.
3. Keep hands, feet, and other objects to themselves.
4. Speak politely ( no profanity, teasing, or put-downs).
Consequences for Behavioral Infractions.
1. First Offense: warning by teacher ( verbal or non- verbal)
2. Second Offense: student/teacher conference.
3. Third offense: detention referral and parent contact.
4. Fourth Offense: referral in gradebook and set up a parent/teacher conference.
Retake Policy:
According to Randolph Secondary Policy the student has the opportunity to redo major work (
Tests, Projects) as many times as they want. They need to let the teacher know they are going
to redo work.You will have 14 day (10 school day) to retake tests. Must do remediation in
Tutoring before retaking.
Make up Work:
If a student knows that he/she will be absent , the student must ask
the teacher for the work in advance, and the student will submit the
work on the day the student returns to class.
If a student has an unplanned, excused absence, the student will be given the number of days
equal to the length of the absence in which to turn in make-up work unless other arrangements
have been made with the teacher.

Unit 2- Freedom Week
Unit 3- Exploration and Early Colonization of texas
Unit 4- Mexican Colonization and Empresario System
2nd Nine Weeks:
Unit 5- Unrest and Revolt in Texas
Unit 6- Republic of Texas and Early Statehood
2nd Semester
3rd Nine Weeks
Unit 7- Texas During the Civil War and Reconstruction
Unit 8- Cotton, Railroads, and the Closing of the texas Frontier
Unit 9- Modernizing texas and the Age of Oil
4th Nine Weeks:
Unit 10- Texas during the Great Depression and World War II
Unit 11- Civil Rights and Conservatism bring changes
Unit 12- Contemporary Texas
